Lee Shapiro
Treasurer
Lee Shapiro is the 2021-23 treasurer of the American Heart Association and a managing partner at 7wireVentures, an investment firm he co-founded over a decade ago. He previously served as chief financial officer of Livongo Health and is former president of Allscripts where his leadership was integral in the execution of over $4B in mergers, acquisitions and financings.
As treasurer, Shapiro has general oversight of the financial affairs of the AHA including care and custody of all funds and securities. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors, Business Solutions Oversight Committee and Audit Committee, and is chairperson of the Corporate Operations Coordinating Committee.
Shapiro is a co-founder and board member of The World Innovation Network, the advisory committee of the University of Chicago Innovation Fund Advisory Committee, and the Samsung Digital Health Advisory Board. He is a frequent speaker at widely attended industry conferences and is a published contributor to the Forbes Business Council.
Shapiro practiced commercial law at Barack, Ferrazzano, Kirschbaum, Perlman and Nagelberg, a prominent Chicago law firm. He holds a JD degree from The University of Chicago Law School and a BS in Accounting from the University of Illinois.
